Description
Gerry first came to CDC in 1985 to take on the position of Chief of the Laboratory Investigations Branch in the AIDS Program. This was an exciting time, as the HIV [human immunodeficiency virus] virus had been identified only a couple of years before, and diagnostic testing for the virus was in its early stages.
