BO LAB ROCK

Description
A small rock with "Bo" written in black pen on one side. The laboratorians working in the Bo Hot Lab would place stones with the names of the location where specimens came from on top of a group of samples to keep track of where they had come from. The Hot Lab was located within the Médecins Sans Frontières / Doctors Without Borders [MSF] Case Management Center in the Bo District, Sierra Leone. A hot lab is a facility that performs diagnostic tests and/or research on Hazard Group 3 and Hazard Group 4 pathogens [the Ebola virus is considered a Hazard Group 4 pathogen].
