Interview 1: Dr. Desmond E. Williams, director of the Liberia office of the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, gives a brief, chronological account of his life and career up through the early days of Sierra Leone's 2014-16 Ebola epidemic.
Interview 2: Dr. Desmond E. Williams, director of the Liberia office of the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, describes his time leading CDC's Ebola response in Sierra Leone's Western Area during the rise in cases in late 2014 and 2015. Dr. Williams served in several capacities with the response, including epidemiology and surveillance, communications and community engagement. He then turned his attention to Liberia, at first as a response lead, then as country director of CDC's newly formed Liberia office.
