Dr. Mohamed A. Vandi, district medical officer (DMO) for Kenema District in Sierra Leone, gives some personal history and then describes his time working to stem the 2014-16 Ebola epidemic. As DMO, Dr. Vandi served a lead role in coordinating disease surveillance and community engagement during the epidemic.
