Dr. Pierre Rollin, deputy chief of the Viral Special Pathogens Branch within the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, gives an overview of his life and career leading up to the 2014-16 Ebola epidemic. Particular attention is paid to Dr. Rollin's experiences with viral hemorrhagic fevers in Africa.
