Description
Dr. Karen Wong briefly reviews her career, then discusses her work responding to the 2013-16 West African Ebola epidemic with the United States Public Health Service and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Dr. Wong treated Ebola patients in the Monrovia Medical Unit, a facility built just outside Monrovia, Liberia, by the US Department of Defense, which admitted Ebola-infected healthcare workers. Dr. Wong served on MMU Team One in the fall of 2014. At the CDC in Atlanta, she worked on modeling the epidemic in Guinea and served as the deputy lead of the clinical guidance team in the Emergency Operations Center.
