Description

Magnified 320X, this photomicrograph revealed the presence of many Gram-positive Micrococcus mucilaginosis bacteria. Commensal bacteria, Micrococcus spp. are normally found on the skin surface of humans, and can become the etiologic pathogens in the case of opportunistic infections involving immunocompromised individuals, which includes those with AIDS, or undergoing chemotherapeutic treatments.
