Description
Interview 1: Dr. Satish K. Pillai, deputy director for the Division of Preparedness and Emerging Infections at the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, briefly reviews his career and then describes his efforts with CDC's 2014-16 Ebola epidemic response. Beginning in July 2014, Dr. Pillai made several trips to Liberia as an epidemiologist, team lead, and acting country director for CDC's office. He also served in the Emergency Operations Center in Atlanta as a Liberia technical officer, and later as the last incident manager of CDC's Ebola response.
