Description
Regan Rickert-Hartman, epidemiologist for the International Task Force of CDC's 2014-16 Ebola response, provides some personal background and then describes her deployments to Sierra Leone. Rickert-Hartman deployed to Port Loko in September 2014 and late February 2015, then deployed a third time to Freetown to focus on setting up an Integrated Disease Surveillance and Response (IDSR) system. She and her family subsequently moved to Sierra Leone to work in the new CDC country office there.
