Description
Dr. Victor Cáceres of the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention/Public Health Service describes his time helping to improve Ebola surveillance capacity in "ring countries," those surrounding Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone, during the West African Ebola epidemic. Between late 2014 and August 2015, Dr. Cáceres supervised the STEP (Surveillance Training for Ebola Preparedness) initiative in Cote D’Ivoire, Guinea-Bissau, Mali, and Senegal. In October 2015, Dr. Cáceres served as deputy incident manager in the CDC Emergency Operations Center in Atlanta, Georgia.
