“Poliomyelitis Surveillance Report: No. 18,” a CDC report summarizing the latest available polio data as of May 20th, 1955. Produced by the U.S. Department of Health, Education, and Welfare, U.S. Public Health Service, Communicable Disease Center (CDC), Epidemiology Branch, Poliomyelitis Surveillance Unit.

Including: Type I polio isolated from stool in California, family members of patient who weren’t vaccinated show signs of non-paralytic, and the first isolation of Polio virus from a Wyeth Laboratory case.
