Dr. Charles Hatcher, Jr. a cardiac surgeon from 1962 until the early 1980s at Emory University. He describes his perspective of the unique relationship Emory University had with the CDC from its earliest days and relates anecdotes about key personnel in some of the historical events involved in the formation of both institutions.
